The public is welcome to enjoy two aircraft viewing areas at the Falcon Field Airport terminal building: a patio behind the terminal and a separate lawn area on the east side of the building. Both areas face the aircraft parking ramp and offer close-up views of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters on the ramp, taxiways and runways. Free binoculars are available in both viewing areas for an even better view as the aircraft take off, land and hover! Free public parking is located in front of the terminal. For more information, call Falcon Field Airport at 480-644-2450.
The shaded viewing patio behind the terminal features amphitheater-style and traditional patio seating amid desert landscaping. Enter the terminal through the front door, proceed through the lobby, and access the patio from the back door. The patio is open to the public 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The public lawn area is open daily and can be accessed directly from the terminal parking lot. It is located between the terminal and the Falcon Field air traffic control tower. It features historic photographic murals as well as a sidewalk painted with authentic runway markings. Free gliders can be obtained inside the terminal office during business hours that children can fly on the miniature runway.
