If you have questions or need more information, please contact Zach Boomsa with the Federal Aviation Administration at 480-981-1367 ext. 7707 and/or zachary.boomsma@faa.gov.<br><br>The FAA Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) is a collaborative initiative designed to improve runway safety at individual airports by bringing together local stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with surface operations. The RSAT’s primary purpose is to address existing runway safety problems and issues. Its secondary purpose is to identify and proactively mitigate potential runway safety risks. RSAT meetings are held at least annually and include airport management, air traffic control, pilots, tenants, and other stakeholders.&nbsp; Teams analyze local runway incursions, excursions, and surface incidents.&nbsp; The outcome of the annual meeting is a Runway Safety Action Plan (RSAP) tailored to the airport’s specific operational environment.
