FAA Phoenix Area Modernization Project Update
July 14, 2026 Phoenix Area FAA Modernization Project Implementation Update The FAA needs additional time to complete the environmental review process. As a result, the implementation of the Phoenix Area FAA Modernization Project is now targeted for June 10, 2027. This additional time will allow the FAA to thoroughly review, analyze, and address the substantial feedback received from the public and local agencies during the Draft Environmental Assessment comment period. The FAA will also complete ongoing consultation with various local, state and federal agencies and tribes. Changes to Airport Diagram Effective January 22, 2026
The (FAA) Aeronautical Information Services will soon publish an updated Airport Diagram for Falcon Field Airport (FFZ). As part of this update, the airport would like to highlight the addition of new taxi lane names X1 through X8 located between entirely in the non-movement area. The new taxi lane names X1–X8 will become effective January 22,2026. Please review the attached exhibit showing the new pavement labels in orange. These will be used in issuing NOTAMs and referenced by the airport in future communications.
